October 19-23, 2015

 Persecuted Church Project

The overarching study, in our Bible class, this year, is the beginning and development of the early church, primarily based on the books of Acts.  In our class discussions, we learned that one of the factors, the early church experienced was persecution, for their faith.  The 21st century church is not exempt.  Around the world, Christians are still being persecuted for their belief in Christ.

To better understand, the persecution of the church, each student, will be writing a research paper and giving an oral presentation in class.  I will be sending home a letter that will provide more details about this important project.

This will be a meaningful unit of study to increase our knowledge and awareness of those who suffer, in the name of Christ.  As the Apostle Paul said, in 1 Corinthians 12:26, 'We are one body. . . if one part suffers, every part suffers with it.'

Thoughtfully,
Ms. Kirk

Math for Week October 12- 16, 2015

In Math we will continue to solve algebraic equations using addition or subtraction.  Children seem to be picking up most of the concept.  Some are struggling with how to write their own equations from what a problem is saying.  But once they get to solving it, they are picking that up really fast.
